New ACAPMA chief named

https://insidefmcg.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/mckenzie-headshot.jpgThe Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association (ACAPMA) has appointed Mark McKenzie as its new CEO, replacing long serving chief, Nic Moulis.

McKenzie joins the organisation from the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), and will take up the role from mid-February.

One of McKenzie’s first tasks will be to lead the annual ACAPMA at the House pilgrimage to Canberra in March, where he and the board will meet with politicians and senior public servants to discuss issues affecting members.

Two of the biggest topics will be competition policy and fuel security, with McKenzie  stating these are two of the biggest challenges facing small businesses operating in the downstream petroleum sector.

“I have watched the organisation grow under Nic’s leadership. ACAPMA’s position as a bonafide champion of the downstream petroleum industry is a credit to Nic’s personal passion and energy,” McKenzie said.

“My job will be to maintain and enhance this credibility.”

McKenzie will start in the role on February 16.

“It’s rare that you get to join an organisation that has largely ‘got it right’. I see my role as one of building on the great work already advanced by Nic, the board and the staff of the secretariat.”
