Online FMCG marketplace, RangeMe, has appointed Ricky Friedlander to the position of CTO.

Rangeme is an online network of buyers and suppliers, enabling suppliers to pitch to Australian retailers and buyers.

The website launched in March 2014 and covers 30 national retailer groups that buy products for more than 5000 retail stores.

In July 2014, former Metcash CEO, Andrew Reitzer, was named as a shareholder in the website.

Friedlander previously worked with start ups including MacromatiX, a SaaS provider which built operations software for some of the world’s most recognisable brands including McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, and Starbucks.

His mobile product development was seen as a major innovation for the company and industry and was a key factor in the acquisition of MacromatiX (now Red Book Connect) by private equity firm TPG Growth in 2012.

“RANGEme is a revolutionary concept that is transforming an outdated, time consuming process between buyers and suppliers. I’m thrilled to be leading the technology development of this disruptive business,” Friedlander said.

Nicky Jackson, CEO and founder of RangMe, said Friedlander comes to the company with 13 years of tech industry experience, “which will be instrumental in growing our local development team to deliver an outstanding customer experience”.
