McDonald’s sells secret sauce

https://insidefmcg.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Big-Mac.pngMcDonald’s Australia is for the first time selling 500ml bottles of its secret recipe Big Mac sauce.

The first of only 200 bottles to be produced is being auctioned oneBay Australia, the auction is up to $23,100 after 135 bids, with eight days remaining.

McDonald’s has pledged to donate 100 per cent of the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

At time of print InsideFMCG was unable to ascertain where the remaining bottles would be sold, although Big Brother 2013 winner, Tim Dormer, has been seen flashing one on Instagram.

Additional 25ml tubs will go on sale at select McDonald’s outlets around Australia.

This is just the latest in a string of marketing ploys from the struggling fast food giant, who yesterday launched a “Pay with Lovin” campaign during the Super Bowl. The two week campaign offers selected customers in the US the option to pay for their food with an act of kindness.

Last week, McDonald’s also announced it had replaced its president and CEO Donald Thompson after the company turned in another poor quarter of sales and earnings.
