Tesco and Coca-Cola in price feud

TescoTesco has removed Schweppes products from its supermarket shelves following a pricing dispute with Schweppes owner, Coca-Cola.

Britain’s largest retailer has reportedly pulled 25 lines of the soft drink from its shelves including Schweppes tonic water and ginger ale following disagreements with the beverage giant over the price to charge customers.

Reducing prices has been part of Tesco’s revival strategy under new CEO, Dave Lewis, with the supermarket slashes prices across hundreds of lines in recent months in an effort to turnaround the struggling business and remain competitive against retail giants such as German-owned discounters Aldi and Lidl.

Earlier this year, Tesco also confirmed it plans to shut 43 underperforming stores and had also scrapped plans to open 49 new stores.
