Yowie appoints non-executive director

yowieThe Yowie Group board of directors have appointed Trevor Allen as a non-executive director.

Allen has more than 37 years’ of corporate and commercial experience, primarily as a corporate and financial adviser to Australian and international corporations.

Allen is a non-executive director of Peet Limited, Freedom Food Group, Aon Superannuation, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia.

In each of these roles, he chairs the audit and risk management committee and is a member of the remuneration committee at Peet and Freedom.

Prior to undertaking non-executive roles, Allen had senior executive positions as an executive director- corporate finance at SBC Warburg and its predecessors for eight years as corporate finance partner at KPMG for nearly 12 years.

Allen spent three years in commerce as director – business development for Cellarmaster Wines from 1997 to 2000, having responsibility for the acquisition, integration, and performance of a number of acquisitions made outside Australia in that period.

Yowie chairman, Wayne Loxton, said the company was pleased to welcome Allen to the board as the company continues the rollout of the Yowie brand in the US and other markets.

Mark Avery will step down from the board as non-executive director on March 2015. He was a founding director of Yowie in 2012, with the company stating he had played an active role in transforming the company and assisting in bringing Yowie to market in the US.
