Changes to Food Standards Code

meeting, businessFood Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is calling for submissions on updating the revised Food Standards Code.

The Code was reviewed as part of Proposal P1025 to make requirements clearer and to ensure it better meets the needs of stakeholders. Changes were gazetted on April 10, 2015 and take effect on March 1, 2016.

“The purpose of this Proposal (P1036) is to update the revised Code to account for variations made to the current Code from January to February 2015,” FSANZ CEO, Steve McCutcheon, said.

“A number of minor errors and omissions in the Standards and Schedules will also be corrected.

“Amendments made to the Maximum Residue Limits Schedule since January 2015 will be captured in a separate proposal later in 2015.

“FSANZ welcomes comments on this proposal by 26 May 2015,” he said.
