New weapon against head lice

unnamedA West Australian inventor’s 10 year crusade against head lice has led to the development of a patented high tech gadget – the Licetec V-Comb.

Produced by ToLife Technologies and using a combination of combing and vacuuming, the V-Comb removes head lice and eggs without chemicals, which research has shown head lice are becoming resistant to.

Developed by Moshe Maor, MD of ToLife Technologies, the combing unit and vacuuming proprieties of the V-Comb were inspired by a device male astronauts use to shave while in space.

Driven by the frustrations of a parent dealing with reoccurring head lice, Moshe, said he felt there was a need to fill a ‘much need gap in the market’ for a chemical and allergy free solution.

“Unlike other head lice treatments, the V-Comb captures head lice and eggs into a disposable filter, allowing parents and children to see exactly what’s been removed from the hair.

“Having the ability to see what’s been removed gives them the chance to see the whole head lice lifecycle, with eggs and head lice all securely captured in the disposable filter,” Moshe said.

The V-Comb is used by separating hair in to small sections and thoroughly combing the hair with the hand held device daily to break the head lice life cycle. The benefit is the unit draws the live head lice and eggs into the capture filter for no-mess and hygienic disposal

V-comb can be purchased from local pharmacies or via licetec.com.au.
