The line, consisting of 13 products including a face scrub, anti-shine moisturiser, hair styling cream, lip balm, and a skin lightening variety, Snow Leopard, was developed to counter a gap in the market, according to co-founder, Murdoch Collins.
“From our personal experiences, we recognised a gap in the market for a product range that felt distinctly masculine. Sure, several big industry players had men’s ranges, but they often felt like a women’s product simply with a different smell and label,” Collins said.
“We set out to create an unmistakably masculine range that was simple to use, easy to maintain and most of all, effective.”
The Cosmetic Chemist behind the range, Richard Gonano, is best known for his work with beauty brands including AESOP, Kevin Murphy, Sukin and Red Earth. Black Leopard Skincare is currently focusing its efforts on the local Australian market, with the first boutique planned for Melbourne’s retail capital, South Yarra, to open later this year. The Black Leopard Skincare founders have also started exploring opportunities in the international marketplace.
