Hero, the Australian brand of condoms dedicated to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa, has secured distribution with retailing giant, Coles.
The product, already ranged in IGA, City Convenience stores, and since July, Woolworths, will be stocked across 558 Coles stores nationally.
Dustin Leonard, CEO, Hero, said the partnership will turbocharge the company’s momentum, and enable it to expand the scope of its social welfare initiatives.
“Working with Coles is a big deal for us. With 75 per cent of condoms sold in grocery stores, this newest distribution partner means we’ll be able to get more condoms into the hands of those who really need them. Coles is an iconic brand and we’re delighted to be associated with them,” he said.
“This partnership also means we’ll be able to send the Hero team to Botswana next week to explore more ways we can help with the HIV/AIDs problem. One avenue that we’re looking to contribute more resources towards is an anti-retroviral treatment programme for pregnant women with the disease.”

Already, Hero has donated 75,000 condoms to Botswana, the country with one of the highest incidences of HIV/AIDS in the world. It plans to send another half a million condoms to Botswana by the end of this month.
