Valleyfresh co-founder retires

Fresh produce import company, Valleyfresh, has announced the retirement of co-founder, Garth Lockyer, from his full time executive position.

Lockyer, who established the company more than 20 years ago with business partner, Jamie Craig, will continue in his role as non-executive chairman, and consult on special project work.

Murray McCallum, CEO of Valleyfresh, praised Lockyer’s work ethic in facilitating the company’s local and international expansion.

“Valleyfresh has grown to be one of the preeminent fresh produce import companies in Australia. Today they supply the wholesale markets and all major supermarket chains as well as running large-scale prepacking operations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and recently in Perth, with the launch of the Packing Station.

Valleyfresh has also grown to be a significant Pacific Rim Exporter of fresh produce into Asia with offices in the Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Indonesia, Peru, and Chile. In 2014, the company expanded its global reach further establishing an export operation in South Africa.
