After donating $5000 to the LMDRF, Gloria Jean’s Coffees managing director, Rick Graham, said he was impressed by the enthusiasm of franchisees and customers in raising funds for the appeal.
“I am extremely proud of our team on the ground in Western Australia, who responded quickly to the disaster and have demonstrated their passion for helping their local communities,” said Graham.
The LMDRF is the recognised state emergency fund and provides relief for personal hardship and distress arising from natural disasters.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees (GJC) customers will be able to assist the communities in Western Australia affected by the bushfires by donating to the LMDRF at any GJC coffee house within the state.
“Our guests are always generous and willing to help so we are making it easy for them by allowing them to donate to support disaster relief and recovery work at any coffee house in Australia,” said Graham.
The Retail Food Group owned coffee company, with 18 coffee houses across Western Australia and over 340 nationally, is currently in the process of implementing its bushfire appeal nationwide.
From January 15 until the end of February, donation boxes in all participating GJC coffee houses throughout Australia will be collecting funds for the Western Australian bushfire appeal.
