E.E. Muir and Sons to acquire agribusiness Serve-Ag

Muirs logoE.E. Muir and Sons has announced a deal to acquire Tasmanian-based agribusiness Serve-Ag.

The deal, expected to close on May 1, 2016, will create the only privately owned agribusiness represented in every Australian state.

“This merger is great news for Tasmanian vegetable and potato growers, as it will ensure they are able to benefit from the wide range of products and expertise offered by E.E. Muir and Sons,” said AUSVEG National Marketing Manager Nathan McIntyre.

E.E. Muir and Sons is an AUSVEG strategic partner and has focused on a wide range of rural enterprises for over 80 years. Serve-Ag has been offering agronomic advice and agricultural services and products to Tasmanian clients since 1976.

“Vegetable and potato growers across the country will be able to benefit from the combined resources and specialty services of both companies. Given the outstanding reputation that both companies hold within the industry, this is a great development for growers,” McIntyre said.

“Both Serve-Ag and E.E. Muir and Sons are high quality companies that pride themselves on offering exceptional services and products to Australian vegetable and potato growers,” he said.
