Natural supermarket About Life hits Melbourne

unnamedOne-stop shop for natural groceries, About Life, is set to open its first Melbourne store.

About Life, a holistic lifestyle hub, will open on Bay Street, Port Melbourne later this month.

“This is an incredibly exciting stage in About Life’s growth. We have seen huge success in our existing Sydney stores, and Australians have overwhelmingly embraced natural living in recent years,” said co-founder Tammie Phillips.

“Opening our first Melbourne store heralds a new era for us. We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the About Life philosophy with one of Melbourne’s premier urban beachside areas, where health and wellness are real priorities.”

About Life cites that Australia’s growing appetite for wellness is evident in the annual 15 per cent growth in the natural and organic industry since 2009, based on data from the Australian Organic Market Report 2014.

Born in 1996 as a juice bar and cafe in Rozelle in Sydney’s inner west, About Life now has six stores in Sydney. Sisters Jodie Stewart and Tammie Phillips founded the business with the goal of eliminating artificial preservatives, flavours, sweeteners, colours and other similar substances found in conventional supermarkets.

The About Life wholefood supermarket offers an extensive range of natural and organic groceries including fresh produce, meat, dairy, deli, bakery, pantry staples and green household goods. It also offers an extensive health and beauty range.
