SA meat company Gawler in administration

gawler-river-cattle-co-royal-parkjpgAdelaide meat and livestock company Gawler River Cattle has gone into administration, putting 38 jobs at risk.

Administrators Stephen Duncan and Chris Powell have been appointed to restructure the company’s retail and wholesale meat operations.

“The Royal Park and Christies Beach stores are trading. We’re working to trade out of our tough times and thank everyone who is supporting south Australian family owned businesses like ours. Yes times are tough but we are still delivering quality meat and aim to continue to do so. Thanks for your ongoing support,” said the company on its Facebook page.

Earlier it announced in social media that the company is going through a restructuring process. The company is based at Royal Park in Adelaide but has retail outlets at Craigmore, Christies Beach and Kadina.

One supporter said “I think we all should be supporting this South Australian business during this time and spread the word to everyone to buy from them rather than your supermarket. Support a local business and keep staff happy at work.”
