Clean Seas, Beston in China kingfish deal

clean seas kingfishAustralian seafood producer Clean Seas Tuna has joined with Beston Global Food in a new venture to distribute fresh and frozen kingfish in China, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Beston Global Food will distribute an initial shipment of 176 tonnes of frozen kingfish from Clean Seas Tuna and both ASX-listed companies anticipate further shipments of at least 340 tonnes over the next 18 months.

The initial contract runs from June 2016 to December 2017.

“This exciting development will facilitate the establishment of Clean Seas Kingfish as a premium Australian seafood product in the Chinese and South Korean markets,” Clean Seas said.

“Clean Seas and Beston will be working together to develop these markets, leveraging Beston’s networks and relationships in the region and Clean Seas’ outstanding kingfish.”

Meanwhile Clean Seas said its sales for the 2016 full financial year had reached 2,012 tonnes – 83 per cent above the 1,098 tonnes in the prior year.
