Crust launches alcohol delivery service

pizzaHome-delivered pizza can now come with a side of beer, wine or cider with the Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar chain introducing alcohol deliveries at some of its outlets.

The pizza group says it has made history on Tuesday for being Australia’s first quick service restaurant to launch alcohol delivery.

Deliveries are currently limited to crust stores in Armadale, Mill Park, Fitzroy and Melbourne’s CBD.

“Consumer research indicates that Australians are cooking at home less – not only is ordering home delivery on the rise, but Aussies are dining out at cafes and licensed restaurants more than ever before,” said Renee North, general manager, Crust.

The group, owned by Australia’s largest multi-food franchise company, the Retail Food Group, said it will work with other states’ legislative bodies to rollout alcohol delivery throughout the rest of Australia.

North said the group had chosen wine, beer and cider to complement their pizzas to remove consumers’ need to pop out to the bottle shop.

“The option to pair your favourite pizza with an alcoholic beverage will be well-received by young couples and small groups, and we look forward to extending the offering across even more stores over the coming months,” she said.

Crust’s drinks menu includes Australian brewers James Squire and Little Creatures, along with a selection of premium red and white wines.
