Condom company reaches donation milestone

heroHERO, the world’s first socially responsible condom company, has marked World Aids Day by announcing the company has reached its 2016 condom donation milestone and will be providing a further 2 million condoms to Botswana.

HIV infections are on the rise in Botswana, with over 15,000 new infections occurring every year, therefore an increased effort is required to provide quality condoms to those that do not have the money or the means to access them.

In 2015, after only three months of being sold in Woolworths and Coles, HERO went into production to make 500,000 customised condoms, which were later distributed throughout Botswana, in partnership with Government authorities.

The condom company has a one for one business model; a condom is donated to a developing country for every one sold in Australia and New Zealand.

Having reached the 2016’s donation goal, HERO will aim to double its efforts in 2017. To increase donations, HERO will donate 12 condoms for every bottle sold of its new natural plant based lubricant.
