New herbal aid to help quit smoking

quitonicQuitonic, a non-toxic herbal alternative for quitting smoking, was recently developed by the former CSIRO scientist, clinical psychologist and chemical addiction expert Dr Michael King.

It is an alternative to products which uses drugs or nicotine as an aid for smokers to halt smoking, which takes the form of a 10 ml liquid sachet that is taken each time a smoker feels the urge to light up.

“Using drugs and nicotine products to break the cigarette habit is not the answer. They can block the production of the ‘fight or flight’ chemistry in the body, making stressful situations seem unbearable,” Brisbane based Quitonic CEO Dermot Walsh.

“What makes Quitonic different is that it assists smokers to quit naturally by helping to restore the chemical balance in the brain, which is altered by cigarette smoke. It brings Australians a safe alternative to controversial medicines like Champix”.

Walsh said most people with the help of Quitonic can help Aussies kick the habit within a matter of few weeks. His studies found that patches and gums only have limited results – and still contain nicotine.

“Smoking kills 15,000 Australians each year and costs $ 31.5 Billion in health and economic costs. No one can afford the health risks and crippling costs associated with cigarettes,” Walsh explained.

“50 year old interstate truck driver, Steve Miller who smoked a pack for 30 years, tried every quit smoking product on the market – with no success. Steve’s lifelong addiction ended last year (May 2015) after a course of QuitonicTM, and in just under a three week period,” he added.

QuitonicTM is being marketed as a non-addictive, harmless, herbal oral liquid without side effects, according to Walsh.
