Aussie celebs lead Twinings design challenge

twinings-celebTwinings unveiled the four iconic finalists of the Twinings Design Challenge.

Finalists include Carrie Bickmore, Emma Freedman, Samantha Harris and Nicole Kidman who were chosen by a judging panel including Archibald Prize judge Ashley Dawson-Damer, out of a field of 33 designs.

“We wanted to celebrate our 300 years of women and Twinings tea because we’re proud that all those centuries ago Thomas Twining opened the world’s first teahouse to welcome women,” said Audrey Green, brand director of Twinings Australia.

“To mark this, we thought we’d ask Australian women what they wanted in their tea and our Master Tea Blender Philippa Thacker has created this refreshing, Twinings Morning Tea blend just for them. We also wanted this tea to reflect modern Australian women and what inspires them. To have these four, strong iconic women we admire in this country to lend their creative talents to developing the packaging is just wonderful.”

The designs will adorn the packs of the brand new Twinings Morning Tea blend, which will be seen in supermarkets from the end of January 2017.

Ten cents from every pack of Twinings Morning Tea sold will be contributed towards the top four’s charities of choice; Carrie Bickmore – Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, Emma Freedman – Captain Courageous Foundation, Samantha Harris – Make-A-Wish Australia, and Nicole Kidman – Variety: The Children’s Charity.

Australians will have a chance to vote for their favourite design and voting is open, running between now to 8th May. Whichever celebrity accumulates the most votes will have her design remain on shelf, where 10c from every pack sold will be contributed to her charity of choice over the next four years.
