McCain’s new Rustica pizza range

RusticaMcCain Foods’ unveiled its latest frozen pizza range, Rustica, a minimally processed, sourdough crust pizza.

It is baked in a wood-fired oven and is made using natural ingredients with no artificial preservatives or flavours.

McCain Foods Australia and New Zealand head of marketing, Katrina Wilson, believed that many families will prefer to eat a piping hot Rustica pizza at home rather than prepare homemade or leave the house to dine out at their local pizzeria, after tasting this delicious and convenient range.

“McCain Rustica sourdough gives pizza lovers a premium quality dining experience in the comfort of their own home – and saves them time and money in the process,” Wilson said. “The pizza market here keeps growing, and the offerings are getting more gourmet and consumers more demanding of quality. We’ve created a product that reflects the high standard that Australians now expect in frozen foods.

The classic flavour combination of Spinach and Mozzarella with sundried tomatoes, a crowd-pleasing Margherita with fresh herbs, and a mouth-watering Four Cheese are the first three varieties launched.

“McCain Foods strives to continually improve its products and be the leader of innovation in the frozen pizza category. We carefully research our consumers and strive to make our pizza as natural, nutritious and as tasty as possible with flavours that customers love,” Wilson said.

“Risen slowly with 24 hours of proofing and then baked in wood fired ovens, the sourdough base provides McCain Rustica crusts the signature sensory features of artisan sourdough bread, including its desired earthy and slightly smoky flavour and crisp, airy chew.”

The McCain Rustica Sourdough Pizza range is available at selected Coles, Woolworths and Metcash stores nationally for $7.49.
