Coles missing from Pringles’ product launch


Coles is missing-in-action from Pringles’ latest limited edition product launch, which will see Chicken Salt and Meat Pie flavours hit shelves at Woolworths and IGA independents.

A spokesperson for Pringles said the Wesfarmers’ owned chain had opted not to participate in the product launch.

Coles did not respond to a request for comment, but CEO John Durkan has previously indicated the supermarket giant’s interest in simplifying its cold grocery range, reducing SKUs.

The flavours will be launched at the same time and have been timed to coincide with AFL finals, taking place through September.

“When the team and I headed into the kitchen, we were overwhelmed with so many ideas and suggestions. In the end, it came down to two. Some of the Pringlers wanted us to put the iconic flavours of a good ol’ hearty meat pie into a chip. While my other Pringlers just wouldn’t be calmed, until I told them that I’d consider their proposal for a beautiful umami of chicken salt (and lots of it),” said Mr. Pringles.

The new products are available for RRP $3.99.
