Hans caught in recall over bacteria contamination

Hans Continental Smallgoods has been forced to recall its Hans Spanish Chorizo from Coles stores in NSW and Queensland due to microbial (E.coli) contamination.

Hans Spanish Chorizo sold in 250g vacuum packed packages with the expiration of 1 December 2017 are being pulled from the supermarket giant’s stores.

“This recall is being undertaken to ensure the safety of our customers as part of our ongoing commitment to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality at all times. We apologise for any inconvenience. We are working with relevant authorities to ensure the ongoing safety of our consumers,” the company said in a statement.

The company said that the product recall only applies only to chorizo and no other product ranges have been impacted. Customers have been asked to return products to the point of purchase for an immediate cash refund.
