Woolies stocks Coca-Cola No Sugar
Woolworths originally announced that they will not be stocking Coca-Cola No Sugar as they stated consumers already have ample choice when it comes to low-sugar soft drinks.
Managing director, Australian Beverages, Peter McLoughlin said the decision would ensure Coca-Cola No Sugar reached thousands more Australian consumers, building on its existing strong performance nationwide.
“Our aim is make sure all Australians have the chance to enjoy this great drink, alongside the rest of our range. Woolworths is an excellent retailer, and we’re glad they’ve made the decision to stock Coca-Cola No Sugar alongside the existing ‘Big Four’ of Classic, Diet, Zero and Coke With Stevia,” McLoughlin said.
“Taste tests show Coca-Cola No Sugar is actually preferred by a majority of Classic Coke drinkers and at least equally well liked by lovers of Coke Zero. It’s also proved popular in the market. Nearly 1 in 3 sparkling beverage consumers in Australia have tried a Coca-Cola No Sugar, and 39 per cent of this group have tried more than one. That’s a strong result, so we’re looking forward a great summer with Coca-Cola No Sugar.”
A Woolworths spokesperson said, “At Woolworths, we’re listening to our customers and adapting our offer to meet their changing shopping needs.”
“We have taken the decision to stock the new range as customers are now asking for the product to be ranged in our stores, as they transition from Coca-Cola Zero.
“At Woolworths, we’ll also continue to ensure customers looking for no sugar or low sugar cola options will always have ample choice in the category across a range of different pack sizes and formats. “
