Coca-Cola Amatil’s beverage boss to step down

Coke AmatilCoca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has announced Peter McLoughlin, managing director, Australian Beverages, will be stepping down and taking an extended period of sick leave.

Group managing director of CCA, Alison Watkins said in a statement that it was important that McLoughlin put himself, his health and his family first.

“We have agreed that he will take a period of extended sick leave and regrettably, will step down from his position as managing director of our Australian Beverages business,” Watkins said.

“I want to recognise the huge contribution McLoughlin has made to Coca-Cola Amatil, and the great affection and respect we have for him. He’ll be greatly missed by Coca-Cola Amatil. He has distinguished himself in his commitment to straight-forward and open leadership helping to shape Australian Beverages’ growth plans for the future in all his various roles.”

Soft drinks giant said in a statement the position of managing director Australian Beverages will be taken up on a permanent basis by Peter West on 30 April, a 30-year veteran in the food and beverages industries and currently managing director of Dairy and Drinks at Lion Pty Ltd. West’s appointment was announced in December 2017.

Group chief financial officer Martyn Roberts has been appointed interim managing director of Australian Beverages. Paul Cooke, currently group general manager Financial Planning and Control will take on the responsibility as interim group chief financial officer.
