The food company created four new flavours of the frozen dumplings including Chicken and Lemongrass; Beef and Ginger; Pork and Spring Onion and Tofu and Shiitake Mushroom.
The Golden Pig & Co range combines wholesome nutrition with fresh local produce.
“We were not only the first to create gluten free and allergy friendly dumplings commercially in Australia, but also the first to use ethical meat from a local meat supplier (also a sustainable farmer) in dumplings, to use organic ingredients vegetables and spice with no MSG, enhancer or filler, with all ingredients that are non-GMO. We want to create food that is healthy, nutritious, delicious and allows those with allergies and intolerances to dine normally,” Golden Pig & Co co-founder, Erika Chan said.
The company owners are familiar with allergies and intolerances as their daughter, Jordyn Chan, was born with multiple, life-threatening allergies. They spent the next seven years, learning about allergies and were inspired to create this new product.
“We went to trade shows and listened to the consumers and retailers. They’re all seeking clean and fresh ingredients, easy meals with nutritious values. We think it is important to remind people that clean ingredients benefit our bodies. Every mouthful counts. We wanted to make our product more accessible, so we can offer options that can be shared with the whole family,” co-founder Erika said.
