Woolworths has developed a new own brand range of baby food with an emphasis on healthiness and affordability.
The Smiling Tums range was developed with nutritionists and includes nine selections of fruit and veg, meals, custards and snacks with no added sugar or salt, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
The range is suitable for babies from six months old and retails for $1.
Woolworths’ previous own brand baby food, Once Upon A Time, will be discontinued.
Woolworths Senior Nutritionist Natalie Chong said that “every dollar counts” particularly for new families and that the supermarket is committed to providing healthier food options.
“Our team, together with nutritionists, have worked hard to remove added sugar from our full range of baby food without compromising on taste,” Chong said.
“The new Woolworths Smiling Tums range which is naturally sweetened with fruit or veggies, comes in a range of fantastic flavour combinations. From Sweet Potato, Carrot and Parsnip Puree to Apple and Strawberry Fruit Custard, parents can be confident that they are getting a quality product, at a great price.”
The range is on shelves now at Woolworths store for $1 per pouch, with two new fruit flavours coming on October 23.
