The Wise Drinking chatbot, integrated with Facebook Messenger, is a conversation tool that asks consumers questions, gives advice and answers queries.
It can ask questions such as “What did you have to drink tonight?” or “Did you eat?” The chatbot answers consumers in real time and shares tips on the impact of alcohol depending on one’s gender and morphology. It analyses the conversations and advises on the means of transportation the consumer can use to get home – for example, whether or not they can drive.
Pernod Ricard said the new feature will help consumers learn from their alcohol consumption and adopt good habits. It also encourages moderate and safe alcohol consumption during the festive season. The liquor business also updated its Wise Drinking app with an integrated “Tips & Facts” section.
It includes information on the benefits of alternating alcohol with food and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, and the effects of alcohol on body temperature. It includes a dashboard that helps consumers track and learn from their alcohol consumption over a 4-week period, including the number of calories in each drink consumed.
The Wise Drinking app is free and available in 34 languages on iPhone and Android.
