It’s six months since Australian supermarket giants Woolworths and Coles introduced a ban on single-use plastic bags.
Initially the decision was met with much criticism as many consumers struggled to make the adjustment to reusable bags but after subsequent backflips, the ban remained in place.
On January 1, WA introduced a similar ban for all retailers in the state. Retailers who fail to comply with the new laws will face substantial fines and disruptions to business operations.
