Innovative software helps leading Australian fresh food manufacturer increase agility
Baiada is one of Australia’s largest suppliers of premium poultry products. The company operates extensive farming and operation sites across the country, including broiler and breeder farms, hatcheries, processing plants, cooking plants, and feed milling facilities.
Baiada was looking for a flexible business management solution to help the company rapidly respond to changes in the market, says Craig Ford, National IT Manager of Baiada.
“Our business is one of constant change and we need systems that enable us to implement changes to our business very quickly. A key criterion for us was to avoid a situation where a change in our business or marketplace would require us to go through a three to six-month process to make changes within the system,” says Craig.
The company was previously using three disparate, unintegrated solutions to manage its financials, inventory management, and accounts receivables. Baiada therefore needed an all-in-one, integrated solution that could provide the functionality to manage these business critical functions.
To overcome these challenges, Baiada chose Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management. The company sees the solution’s flexibility and comprehensive functionality as key to driving real change throughout the business.
“We are looking throughout the business to identify how we can do things differently and better, as we design, develop and implement Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management. It’s not just about efficiency, it’s also about looking at where we can offer a better overall product in the marketplace.” says Craig.
“This project is as much about finding ways to do things differently and try new things we couldn’t have contemplated before, as it is providing a system with better flexibility and functionality.”
To help Baiada implement and customise Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management, a global project team was assembled, consisting of Sage specialists from Australia, Europe, India, and South Africa, together with Sage partner Leverage Technologies, and members of the Baiada team.
