Blackmores CEO Richard Henfrey resigns

henfreyAustralian health supplement company Blackmores has this Tuesday morning announced the resignation of its chief executive officer and managing director Richard Henfrey.

The company offered no explanation for Henfrey’s departure after 18 months in the top job.

Henfrey joined Blackmores in 2009 and has had a variety of executive roles since then. He will remain in the position while the board searches for his replacement.

Last week the company warned investors not to expect an increase in sales to China over the next six months and said that it had commenced a review of its investment approach in the country.

Chairman Brent Wallace thanked Henfrey for his leadership of the Group and his “strong commitment” to the company.

“He has played a pivotal role in the growth of Blackmores and in the industry of complementary medicine overall,” Wallace said. “I am confident Richard will lead the transition period well, backed by our strong executive management team.”
