Woolworths creates healthy eating hub with Jamie Oliver

Woolworths Healthier Easier Launch with Jamie Oliver and Woolworths MD Claire Peters 2Woolworth’s long-time ambassador, much-loved TV chef Jamie Oliver, has collaborated with the supermarket giant on a healthy eating program which allows customers to access his top healthy recipes and tips for eating well.

The Woolworths ‘Healthier Easier’ program is available to customers both online and in-store, with an online learning hub now available on the supermarket’s website and tips and recipe cards on offer in each store.

The healthy eating hacks and recipes will also be shared in the Woolworths catalogue, Fresh magazine and across social media with the aim of getting customers to buy and eat better food.

Oliver who has been active in educating young and old on healthy eating through his own television shows, said “we all need a little helping hand now and then”.

“As part of the program, I’ll be sharing my favourite tricks for eating well, giving beautiful fresh produce some love, and hopefully getting Aussies really excited about new ways to eat more of the good stuff,” Oliver said.

Among the chef’s favourite recipes which will be shared through the first stage of the program are Feta, Zucchini and Spinach Cakes, Gnarly Chicken Tikka Kebabs and a Fish Finger Sandwich.

Woolworths supermarkets managing director, Claire Peters, said the goal is to make it easier for shoppers and their families to eat healthier.

“Working closely with Jamie we are further showcasing our commitment to help our customers take more steps to eating better using the fresh, healthy and affordable ingredients they can access when shopping with us online or in-store,” Peters said.

“We know that healthy food habits start from a young age which is why in addition to the Healthier Easier program, helping educate and inspire Aussie kids to make smart and fresh food choices also remains critical for us.”

Woolworths and Jamie Oliver have been working together for six years and the chef is eager to build on the partnership with another healthy eating initiative.

“I’ve seen Woolworths set the standards in Australia on so many important initiatives, from food waste, industry reformulation, health star labelling, the brilliant free fruit for kids in store, and the new Fresh Food Kids Discovery Tours that students can do in-store. The Healthier Easier program is another brilliant way to highlight great, healthier, tasty food,” Oliver added.
