Judith Swales has been appointed to the role of chief operating officer, global consumer and foodservice at Fonterra, with immediate effect, following her stint in the role in an acting capacity.
Swales, who is already a member of the executive team, has previously held the positions of managing director of the co-op’s Oceania business and chief operating officer of Fonterra’s transformation and innovation function.
“Judith has been providing strong leadership into our Consumer and Foodservice business unit, and the momentum she has gathered deserves to be continued,” Fonterra CEO Miles Hurrell said.
“Judith’s strengths as a leader lie in her ability to quickly understand what needs to be done and her action-orientation – she’s very purposeful in the way she goes about things and I have every confidence in her delivering the kind of performance that people expect from us. I’m very pleased to have Judith at the helm of our Global Consumer & Foodservice business.”
