Beer giant Corona has announced its latest move, a premium alcohol-spiked refresher, Corona Refresca.
Released on Monday, it’s the first flavoured malt drink released during the brand’s 37 years in the liquor industry.
“The strong brand equity of Corona allows us to keep the iconic lifestyle at the heart of everything we do,” said Ann Legan, vice president of marketing for Corona.
“We are propelling Corona forward to address consumer’s desire for flavourful experiences with new innovations, like Corona Refresca. This expansion of the brand is anchored in Corona’s carefree lifestyle and inspired by the tropics, helping fans pause and celebrate the moments that truly matter with a new flavour-forward beverage in-hand.”
The Corona Refresca range includes three new flavours of Passionfruit Lime, Guava Lime and Coconut Lime. It has an ABV of 4.5 per cent with 199 calories per 12-ounce serving.
The Constellation Brands owned beer business has significantly developed it’s offering over the last year to cater to the changing demands of beer drinkers with Corona Refresca as well as Corona Premier that launched nationally in 2018.
Corona Refresca Guava Lime and Passionfruit Lime flavours will each be available in six-packs for an RRP of US$9.99. A 12-pack that includes all three tropical flavours – Guava Lime, Passionfruit Lime and Coconut Lime – will be available for an RRP of US$16.99.
