a2 Milk director Peter Hinton to step down

The a2 Milk company has today announced that independent non-executive director Peter Hinton will retire from the board at the end of the financial year.

Hinton originally joined the business as an advisor to and partner of the company’s founder Dr Corran McLachlan and subsequently an adviser and director of the company.

“We would like to thank Peter for his exceptional and longstanding commitment to the a2 Milk business,” said David Hearn, Chair of the Board.

“We wish Peter all the best as he pursues interests outside of The a2 Milk company and corporate governance roles.”

Pip Greenwood will be appointed as an independent non-executive director of a2 Milk effective on 1 July. She is currently a director at Westpac New Zealand, Spark New Zealand and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.

Greenwood, who is considered a leader in the field of corporate law, was previously a senior partner at law firm Russell McVeagh. She is known for her work promoting greater diversity in the workplace.

“We are delighted to have a person of Greenwood’s considerable talent and experience join the Board,” Hearn said.

A resolution to elect Greenwood will be put to shareholders at the company’s next annual meeting in November 2019.
