Vicks partners with Mission Australia on latest campaign

Procter & Gamble’s medicine brand Vicks has partnered with homelessness charity, Mission Australia, on its latest campaign which will see a donation made for every Vicks product purchased at Coles over the next two months.

The ‘Touch of Care’ campaign includes a short film highlighting the impact of domestic violence and homelessness.

It is based on the true story of a young woman who fled her home to escape domestic violence, leading to experience periods of homelessness during her high school years.

Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness in Australia, with Mission Australia reporting that 121,000 people who sought their services in the past year having experienced domestic violence.

“Mission Australia believes that no one should have to stay in an unsafe home just to keep a roof over their head, or their family’s head,” Mission Australia’s general manager for fundraising and marketing Elvira Lodewick said.

“Yet we know that there’s thousands of Australian families, individuals, young people and children who have been pushed into homelessness because their home isn’t a safe or secure place to live.”

The film is part of Vicks’ donation campaign through which the company will make a cash donation as well as a donation of Vicks products to Mission Australia for every purchase of a Vicks product at Coles until September.
