Larrikin Gin goes national

Ballarat’s Kilderkin Distillery has announced national distribution of its core range of
Larrikin Gin, following the successful release of Sunburnt Country, Bush Tucker Gin and Cherry Lush to a national audience.

The core Larrikin range includes four gins, Scoundrel, Original Larrikin, Buccaneer and Barrel Aged Gin.

Chris Pratt from the Kilderkin Distillery said it’s an “exciting time” for the business.

“It is the next exciting stage in the growth of the company – we are already national with outlets for our gins in almost all states and territories – as well as online orders from round the country. [It] is always good to explore new markets and we are doing that in conjunction with our distributors across Australia,” Pratt told Inside FMCG.

The business is currently working with distributors on trade-focused campaigns – the first of which will be rolled out in the spring.

“These we will support directly through attending a range of public events to promote our gins as well as linking up with retailers to run gin masterclasses,” he said.

Pratt said that Melbourne is regarded as the key market for gins – and gin cocktails, but other cities are close behind.

“Having personally attended events in four states already, it is clear that gin is very popular across the country. There are many gin lovers out there who are welcoming the high quality craft gins that are available in the market,” he added.
