Ice cream brand Connoisseur has whipped up a limited edition range that uses the best of Australia’s homegrown ingredients.
Connoisseur’s Australian Native Collection was created in collaboration with Australian chef Mark Olive, who wanted to celebrate Australia’s unique ingredients.
“The new Connoisseur Australian Native Collection can help Australians become more familiar with ingredients that are unique to our country, which deserve to be tasted and celebrated,” Olive said.
The ice cream sticks come in two flavours. The Wattleseed and Hazelnut stick is made from a roasted Australian wattleseed sauce mixed with ice cream and coated in rich hazelnut white chocolate. While the Wild Hibiscus and Berry stick features floral hibiscus and berry coulis swirled through vanilla flavoured ice cream and coated in pink hibiscus flavoured chocolate.
“We are excited about the new range and championing local ingredients in a new and unexpected way, highlighting the versatile and delicious flavours,” said Peter’s head of marketing, Andrea Hamori.
The ice cream tubs come in three flavours. Macadamia and Spiced Lime features roasted Australian macadamias sprinkled in lemon myrtle with native finger limes and ginger swirled through the vanilla flavoured ice cream.
The Bush Honey and Nougat tub includes bush honey and spicy cinnamon myrtle sauce with chocolate coated nougat pieces in caramel flavoured ice cream. While the Davidson Plum and Cocoa tub is a cocoa ice cream infused with a sweet and sour sauce featuring tart notes of Davidson plum and caramelised Pear.
The Connoisseur Australian Native Collection is available at convenience and grocery stores nationally from August 15 in two multipack sticks; two loose pack sticks and three 470mL tubs.
