Poll: Will consumers favour sustainable collectables?

Woolworths announced this week that it is ditching plastic toys in favour of little plants, with a new environmentally-friendly collectables campaign due to launch next month.

Discovery Garden encourages shoppers to grow their own fresh food by handing out seedlings when customers spend a certain amount at the supermarket. It is based on the internationally successful ‘Little Garden’, which rolled out in New Zealand’s New World supermarket and Checkers stores in South Africa.

The news has been met with a positive response on social media with most consumers praising the retailer’s decision to opt for a more eco-friendly collectable after its Lion King Ooshies received some backlash.

Consumers are more environmentally-conscious than ever, but when it comes to the crunch will they opt for the most sustainable option?
