Marley Spoon co-founder departs for pet food
Marley Spoon Australia co-founder and managing director of marketing Dave Malcolm will leave the meal delivery business to join the Real Pet Food Company.
The pet food business owns the brands Billy+Margot, Ivory Coat, Doctor B’s BARF, Tucker Time, Farmers Market, Natures Goodness, Nature’s Gift, Fussy Cat, and V.I.P. Petfoods. Starting in October, Malcolm will lead the company’s global e-commerce strategy.
“I am very excited to join this innovative, high growth organisation, a leader in the pet food category worldwide,” Malcolm said in an announcement via Linkedin. “I look forward to building new digital solutions to help them continue to provide the highest quality products to pets and their owners around the world.”
The Real Pet Food Company said Malcolm has a proven track record in building and driving brands to success, and is a respected leader with experience curating high performance local and international teams.
“Dave is passionate about all aspects of performance marketing, business strategy, commercial operations and the application of emerging technology in nurturing and growing brands,” the company said.
Malcolm spent the last four years at Marley Spoon, before which he served as a managing partner at defunct marketing firm The Gravy Agency, as well as seven years in video game developer Rockstar Games’ marketing team – four of which were spent as head of marketing and PR.
