Woolworths and Qantas overhaul rewards partnership

Woolworths and Qantas have overhauled their rewards partnership following consumer feedback calling for a “simpler, faster and more rewarding” service.

Woolworths has been in partnership with the Qantas Frequent Flyer program for over a decade, and the retail group has become one of the most popular avenues for members to earn points, with Woolworths, BIG W, BWS and select Caltex and Caltex Woolworths co-branded fuel outlets all taking part.

The changes taking effect on Tuesday will see the conversion rate from Woolworths Rewards to Qantas Frequent Flyer points increase by close to 15 per cent, and members given faster access to Points.

“Our members have told us they love our Qantas Frequent Flyer partnership, but want it to be simpler, faster and more rewarding,” WooliesX managing director Amanda Bardwell said.

“Together with Qantas we’re delighted to deliver on all three counts as we strengthen the partnership.”

Woolworths will also have a presence on the Qantas website with customers now able to sign up for Woolworths Rewards.

“It’s important to us that we continually look for ways to add value and improve how members can earn points through the Frequent Flyer program,” Qantas Loyalty chief executive Olivia Wirth said.

In the last 12 months, Woolworths Rewards members have earned billions of Qantas Points equating to more than 10,000 flights from Australia to the USA.
