Beer Cartel revamps subscription service

Beer Cartel has revamped its monthly beer subscription online and introduced a new brew to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The new subscription offering includes more limited releases and only a single can of each variety.

Richard Kelsey, director of Beer Cartel said it was time for the brand to make some changes after a decade in the evolving marketplace.

“Not only have we seen that craft beer drinkers love trying a variety of beer through products like our Beer Advent Calendar, but we surveyed members who clearly told us that limited releases and variety were at the top of their wish list, so we’ve revamped our offer accordingly,” Kelsey said.

“We’ve kept it as a monthly subscription, but the pack formats have changed, including a shift to all cans. We have three tiers to the beer subscription with these varying by pack size and the mix of new and limited release beers.”

The offering was soft launched over the last few months to test it out, and it has received positive feedback from customers.

The anniversary beer is a red IPA brewed with Ekim Brewery, a company that is also coincidentally celebrating its 10th anniversary.

“We have a bit of a soft spot for Red IPAs and considering that Ekim is an IPA centric brewer, who just happened to also be celebrating its tenth birthday, a collaboration beer between us was an absolute no brainer,” he added.

Beer Cartel founders Geoff Huens and Richard Kelsey launched the online craft beer store in 2009 when online stores were not as prevalent as they are now.

Beer Cartel first opened a local Kennards Wine Self Storage shed before finally buying brick and mortar store and a warehouse in Artarmon, Sydney. Its monthly beer subscription has seen over 30,000 craft beer subscription packs delivered to over 5,000 members in Australia.
