Coca-Cola Amatil seals supply deal with Sydney Zoo

Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has sealed a four year supply deal with Sydney Zoo to provide non-alcoholic beverages until 2024. The Zoo, which is located in Western Sydney Parklands, opened to visitors for the first time at the weekend.

Beverage brands including Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta and Mount Franklin will be available for purchase at the zoo’s outlets.

Coca-Cola Amatil managing director Australia Peter West said the business will be working with the zoo to encourage recycling of its products.

“In line with Sydney Zoo’s commitment to sustainability, all of Coca-Cola Amatil’s plastic bottles 600ml and less at Sydney Zoo will be made from 100 per cent recycled materials. We also encourage visitors to recycle their bottles at the recycling stations in the zoo,” West said.

Amatil is also the official sponsor of the Zoo’s meerkat habitat which is currently home to 15 meerkats as part of the zoo’s breeding program. The beverage bottler will be running a staff volunteering program to help out at the Zoo.

Sydney Zoo managing director Jake Burgess said the zoo is proud to be partnering with such an iconic brand, who will be its first Principal Partner.

“Their investment will not only help support the welfare of our meerkats, but by donating their own time, their annual staff volunteer day will make a huge difference in what we are trying to achieve,” Burgess said.

Sydney Zoo has also partnered with Pizza Hut, Hungry Jack’s, Red Rooster, Oporto and Hilton Hotels.
