Pepsi fuses coffee and cola with launch of Pepsi Café in the US

Soft drinks giant Pepsi will debut its latest innovation Pepsi Café in the US in April 2020. The drink combines Arabica coffee with Pepsi cola in two flavours, Original and Vanilla.

Packaged in 12oz slim cans, the new drink contains double the amount of caffeine compared to a regular Pepsi cola.

“We know that consumers today are looking for products that meet the needs of energy, indulgence, and refreshment during that afternoon pick-me-up occasion,” said Todd Kaplan, VP of marketing, Pepsi .

“At Pepsi, we’ve known the potential of blending cola and coffee for years and after striking the perfect balance, we cannot wait to introduce Pepsi Café to the US next year.”

Kaplan said the drink will appeal to cola fans, iced coffee drinkers and “anyone in need of an extra caffeine boost”.

Pepsi Café Original features the sweeter caramel undertones of a cola, while Pepsi Café Vanilla is a creamier sweet drink.
