Woolworths launches long-term fundraising effort through own brand water

Woolworths Group is using one of its top selling supermarket products as part of a long-term fundraising strategy to support communities affected by natural disasters.

From Friday January 24, the retailer is donating 20 cents from Woolworths Spring Water 24x600ml pack and Woolworths Spring Water 10 Litre pack to its S.T.A.N.D (Support Through Australian Natural Disasters) initiative which supports the Salvation Army, Rural Aid, Lifeline and Foodbank.

The promotion will run until the end of 2021.

“We recognise there is a strong need for sustained support in fundraising towards supporting communities impacted by natural disasters,” Woolworths Group CEO, Brad Banducci said.

“Our customers have been extremely generous and we always rally together to dig deep in times of crisis. This initiative is about providing our partners with financial certainty so they are ready to react quickly to support communities when a natural disaster hits.”

Woolworths Spring Water 24-Pack is sold in Woolworths Supermarkets, Metro and BIG W, and the 10 Litre pack is sold in supermarkets only.

The retailer is currently transitioning its 600ml water bottles to recycled plastic packaging.
