BWS to source new suppliers through consumer vote

Endeavour Drinks-owned BWS has called on consumers and Australia’s independent producers to nominate beverage suppliers that they would like to see ranged in stores.

The ‘Local Luvva’ campaign will see the most popular products in each category per state stocked in stores, with advertising and marketing support.

“BWS is not a local business, but we’re in the business of local. We have always worked hard to stock local suppliers across our stores, and we currently have hundreds of products made by independent winemakers, distillers and breweries across our network,” said BWS local manager Richard Mok.

“We normally conduct a range review once a year, where we look to add new products and suppliers  or expand the ranging of existing suppliers.  This is a great opportunity for brand advocates and customers to tell us what they want to see on our shelves and to support their local heroes, as well as an additional way for suppliers to get their product in stores.”

Current and new suppliers can nominate themselves before July 17. There will be 18 Fan Faves crowned in October 2020.

In March, BWS and Dan Murphy’s fast-tracked 300 new suppliers’ products in stores to help them amid the COVID-19 restrictions. Woolworths also reduced payment terms for suppliers to a maximum of 14 days. This initiative was extended until September 30 when it will be reassessed.
