Honey company Meluka Australia has secured its first order from China for its premium Tea Tree honey. It will ship 2112 units to distributor Yandi Biotech following promising sales of its native raw honey product.
“The company is very encouraged by Yandi placing their first order for our unique tea tree honey,” said Meluka Australia MD Bill Fry. “The response to our native honey in Yandi’s network has been incredibly strong and we look forward to working closely with Yandi to launch this new product into their network in the coming months.”
The Australian business initially launched a honey range in China in May, selling it on Yandi’s online store. Tea Tree is the company’s third product to be distributed by the Chinese company as it strengthens its distribution network.
Yandi’s latest shipment will be used for test marketing, with the two companies developing a joint promotional strategy for the premium Tea Tree honey. It will focus on the nutritional and health benefits of the honey, which is high in antioxidants, and anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties.
