V2Food’s plant-based meats to go on sale in 600+ Woolworths stores

Australian plant-based meat startup V2Food is bringing its products to more than 600 Woolworths stores.

The company, which produces the patties for the Hungry Jacks Rebel Whopper burger, will sell two products – V2Mince and V2Burgers – at Woolworths.

“With the Woolworths launch, we now have a real chance to show Aussies how good plant-based meat can taste, helping them make food choices that are better for the planet,” said Nick Hazell, founder and CEO of V2Food.

V2Burgers and V2Mince were rolled out in 61 Drakes supermarkets in South Australia and Queensland last month.

“The deal with Woolworths represents a significant step towards V2’s ambitions to make plant-based meat a regular item on Aussie dinner tables,” the company said in a statement.

“We’re continuing to see growth in the plant-based category, particularly in recent months as customers cook more at home and are looking for variety in their diet,” Mauro Pisani, plant based category manager at Woolworths.

The retail price for V2Mince and V2Burgers are $8.50 and $9 respectively.
