An Australian range of plant-based milks has been launched through independent supermarkets nationwide.
NuYu is positioned as a premium, vegan-friendly product and comes in five variants: Almond, Oat, Macadamia, Cashew and Pistachio. The South Australian-made products have a shelf life of nine month and are suitable for baking, smoothies, drinking straight or adding to tea or coffee.
NuYu assistant brand manager, Amelia Wright, says the range contains 90-per-cent Australian ingredients with oats, almonds and macadamias used all locally sourced.
“People opting for a dairy alternative will perceive this as a positive choice and feel confident knowing there is no compromise on quality, function or flavour.”
She said the Almond, Oat, Cashew and Macadamia versions are considered ‘barista blends’ which means they are formulated to froth and mix well with coffee, while Pistachio works best in hot chocolates and chais.
NuYu is actively working towards making their packaging sustainable by switching to a material that is a minimum of 30-per-cent recycled plastic (RPET).
