Dymocks Group sells off Patons confectionery arm

Dymocks Group has announced it has sold confectionery manufacturer Patons Macadamia to the business’ managing director Ray Rust after 10 years of ownership, with the intention of focusing on its retail, property, farming and education businesses.

Acquired in 2010, Patons was expanded under Dymocks’ ownership with exclusive rights to the Suncoast Gold retail brand, as well as the acquisition of the Gourmet Nut Company in 2015.

“Ray Rust has significant experience in the nut and confectionery industry and has strong vision for the brand,” Dymocks Group chairman John Forsyth said.

“His commitment to growth and achieving brand presence makes him the natural successor as a business owner. Having worked with Ray for the past three years, I am confident we are leaving the business under capable leadership.”

Dymocks Group also owns and operates the bookstore chain Dymocks, as well as Dymocks Properties, stationery chain Telegram, Arapala Macadamia Farms, and its education platform Dymocks Tutoring.
