Woolworths Christmas campaign promotes local producers

Woolworths has launched its Christmas campaign for this year, emphasising the Australian spirit of generosity.

According to the company, the Christmas campaign encourages Australians to share fresh food from around the country, support local farmers and producers, and “give generously back to the community”.

The campaign features a TVC called ‘Sharing the spirit of Christmas’, showing a carrot-farming couple getting a surprise visit from Santa and his reindeer.

“It’s no doubt that this year has been a challenging one, but what it has shown us is that the spirit of sharing, generosity and kindness has never been more pronounced,” said Andrew Hicks, chief marketing officer at Woolworths.

“We take great joy in knowing the role Woolworths plays in helping families and friends celebrate Christmas in a uniquely Australian way, with the freshest Australian grown produce, traditional roasts, a new exclusive Gold dessert range that includes Australian native ingredients, and, of course, carrots for Santa’s reindeer too,” he added.

To celebrate the festive season, Woolworths will also partner with OzHarvest to help provide 6 million meals to Australians in need, and share Christmas recipes to help customers create a range of special dishes to share with family and friends.
